Hey guys, I posted a video today on couponing and this is the blog post for you if you want more info!!
As most of you know, the TLC show 'Extreme Couponing' has really become quite popular (for reasons I will never know, I have never watched a full episode). This has really jump started the number of couponers in the last year or so. While the shows couponing trips are slightly unrealistic, it is still possible to get cheap and free things using coupons (even if you don't live in the land of coupon doubling). The key to getting cheap items is using your coupons when good sales are going on.
For Example: Garnier Fructis shampoo is normally $2.99 a bottle for the small 12 oz bottles at lets say Target. Target is holding a special for 2/$5 on their Garnier Fructis shampoo (you already saved your first dollar there). You could take 2 of your $1/1 Garnier Shampoo/Conditioner/Styler Coupons and get an additional dollar off EACH of your bottles of shampoo. This brings your total for the shampoo to $3 plus tax. This makes each bottle only $1.50 which is half of the original price! Paying $3 for 2 bottles of shampoo is better than paying $5.98 for 2 bottles right? Exactly!
Where to get coupons:
There are many different places to get coupons. There are printable coupons you can get from coupons.com, redplum.com, smartsource.com or even manufacturer's websites! If you do not want to waste that kind of ink and computer paper, you can always purchase your local Sunday Newspaper and look for the Red Plum and Smartsource Inserts! These usually have a good amount of coupons in them. There are also other inserts that are included at random times throughout the year or monthly like the P&G Brandsaver insert at the beginning of each month! If you aren't happy with your local paper's coupon selection, you can always order inserts from insert services like www.insertinsanity.com or get individual coupons from clipping services or ebay. I personally have been using Insert Insanity and have yet to be disappointed.
The key to saving the most on your grocery bill is stockpiling. This means to purchase multiples of an item at a discounted price so that you do not have to run out and buy it at full price when you run out. You should have a designated space for your stockpile to be housed. You can use under the bathroom cabinets, a garage, a spare closet or really any space you have available.
Anyway, if you have any couponing questions you are more than welcome to ask! I will answer the question as best I can or find the answer for you!

I am busy as a bee editing and filming a couple different videos right now....well, I am actually doing my hair/makeup so I don't look like a total mess in them but they are definitely coming up! I think a lot of people will really be interested in them because I am covering a few different things in each of the videos so there is definitely a good variety of topics being discussed I think :) So, I guess it's time to get back to that and update my twitter and I have a few things to check out on facebook. So TTYL!
